Back in the day the best pre-workout and post-workout were pretty straight forward. We used carbohydrates for energy and would bring fast acting carbs in the form of sugar to the gym to get us through the workout. That was in the days before the ketogenic diet craze. Now pre-workout and post-workout are a little more complicated. Some people do really well burning fats for energy and others don’t.
OMG that was crazy! Why would I do such a thing??? I’ll tell you why… the health benefits are huge! And experts keep discovering more benefits. There’s a right way and a wrong way of doing a fast of course. I’ll go over the benefits and the right way to do it but first I am reminded of a story about the doctor that discovered bacteria on hands. I am reminded of this story because there are a lot of people that will think fasting is crazy. And it is in a way. I’ll get into that too.
I want to tell you about the greatest pre-workout I have ever discovered. First, I am going to bash all other pre-workout crap. The first pre-workout I ever took was ephedrine with caffeine and ASA stack. I quickly got addicted to this stack. There is nothing good for you in this stack. They all have side effects. The ephedrine and caffeine don’t let you sleep the ephedrine as well has a history of causing heart problems. ASA causes leaky gut syndrome.
Dammit! We only have a few weeks left of summer. Make the most out of this time right now. Get outside and enjoy the weather while we still have some nice sunshine! I want to talk about how beneficial the sun is along with nature and being outside in general.
New year’s resolutioners are at the gym now. We love having you but we need you to help us get through this trying time. The gym is packed and there are unwritten rules of the gym. It’s kinda a cult. Let me fill you in so you can feel at home when you workout. Here’s my top 10.
Let me start with a little background info first. I am a personal trainer and I have had abs most of my life give or take a time or 2. Recently, I have been eating out a lot and drinking more than usual. I now make my own wine and my house is stocked with wine and cider and leftover beverages from new year’s eve. My abs went away over the last 6 months and now it’s time to get them back.
There’s the counting calories method, the cutting out allergens method, all kinds of gimmicky brand name methods, the detox method, the intermittent fasting method, the graze all day (small meals many times a day), method. Holy crap there’s a lot of methods! My favorite? The keto-diet or ketogenic diet. Sit back, you’re going to want to hear this.
